License/Usage Insights

The Apportunix License Unit Overview page can be used to view detailed information about the way the usage/unit counts for your subscriptions are calculated.

Tip

You can open the Apportunix License Unit Overview page by using the Tell Me search feature
(Alt+Q, or click on the ‑icon in the top right corner).

Search Apportunix License Unit Overview Page

For most of the Apportunix products, the pricing is based on the number of full BC licenses that are used in the Production environment. The users that are included are those with "full" user licenses (including Essential, Premium, and Device licenses, excluding Team Member, Delegated Admin, and External Accountant licenses, unless stated otherwise for that product).

In the License Counts tab, one can view how the Full + Device count is calculated (note that you can drill down on the field to view all the license units that contribute to the count).

The Users action can be used to open the Users page and view and/or edit the users in Business Central.

The User Plan Members action allows for viewing all user plan assignments in the current Business Central environment.

Update Users from Microsoft 365

If you have changed your user licenses in Microsoft 365, always make sure to use the Update Users from Microsoft 365 action on the Users or Apportunix License Unit Overview page in your Business Central Production environment. Running this action will make sure the licenses in Business Central are in alignment with what has been configured in Microsoft 365, and the correct counts are used for calculating usage/units.

Please note that it might take some time for the users and user plan assignments to be completely updated/synced.

Update Users from Microsoft 365

If you suspect that there is a mismatch between the latest license configuration and user assignment counts, then this could mean that the user plan assignments are not up-to-date in your Business Central Production environment. To resolve this, you may want to use the Update Users from Microsoft 365 action.
